2001 NCAA Division 1 All-American  -  Army


Already one of the most successful wrestlers to ever attend West Point, Maurice Worthy capped his career with a 2nd Place finish in the 2001 NCAA Tournament to become the first Army wrestler to earn All-American honors in 14 years.
In addition to becoming an All-American, Worthy finished his career at West Point with 99 career victories which put him in the Top 10 all-time.  He also ranked in the Top in single season wins (34), Top 5 in single season pins (14), and 3rd all-time in career wins (35).  A team captain in 2001, Worthy was also an EIWA Champion and three-time medal winner and was twice named the Mike Natvig Award Winner given to the Most Outstanding Wrestler at Army.

In high school, Worthy was a two-time NJSIAA State Champion, a three-time state placer, a three-time Region 6 champion, and four-time District 24 champion.  He was also recognized by Wrestling USA magazine as an Academic All-American in 1997 and is a member of the Region 6 Hall of Fame.
